Spicy oven roasted potatoes with turmeric

Who doesn't like oven roasted potatoes?  All my guests to whom I have served those potatoes have raved over them.  Most of the time I improvise, so the quantities are approximate.  Trust yourself  and add your personal touch; they will only taste better.:-)

- 6-7 medium size potatoes
- turmeric
- black pepper
- garlic powder
- hungarian or spanish paprika
- chili powder or cayenne pepper
- oregano (optional)
- salt
- Vegetable oil

(Quantities are up to you, add spices according to your taste.)

Preheat oven at 425F.

Do not peel the potatoes.  Simply rub them under running water with a vegetable brush.

Cut them into 1 inch cubes.

Put them in a big plastic bowl (one that has a lid).  Sprinkle with the spices and add about ¼ cup vegetable oil and salt to taste.  Close lid and shake well, until all potatoes are coated.

Arrange potatoes on baking sheet and add some water at the bottom (maybe ¼ inch).

Cook in oven about 40 minutes (add some water if they seem to be sticking to the sheet).  With a spatula, transfer to a serving plate.
